Partners

The SPIRETH project group consists of SSPA Sweden (project coordinator), ScandinNAOS (technical coordinator),  Stena Rederi, Haldor-Topsøe, Wärtsilä,  Lloyd’s Register EMEA, and Methanex. The partners are based in four countries and have expertise and experience from many areas within the fields of shipping and energy supply and production.

SSPA Sweden AB is an international maritime consulting partner and functions as the bridge between research and industry implementation. The company operates worldwide within all principal fields of maritime engineering, including ship design and maritime operations.

ScandiNAOS is a ship and marine system design consultancy based in Göteborg, Sweden. Recent projects include both research projects and a number of commercial ship design projects where the objective has been to provide the ship owner with a design of the next generation vessels which are designed for lowest possible fuel consumption and to fulfill all upcoming rules regarding emissions.

Stena Rederi AB is a daughter company to Stena AB, which is a leading shipping company in Sweden operating ferries, tankers, Ro-Ro ships and offshore drilling units.

Haldor Topsøe is a world leader in catalysts and catalytic processes. Their catalysts and technologies are used around the world creating a better environment – in the refining industry to clean oil and ensure more environmentally friendly fuels, for cleaning power industry flue gasses and reducing emission from heavy duty vehicles and marine vessels.

Lloyd’s Register EMEA is a risk management and safety assurance organization. Lloyd’s Register approves assets and systems at sea, on land, and in the air.

Methanex is the world’s largest supplier of methanol to major international markets in North America, Asia Pacific, Europe and Latin America.

Wärtsilä is a global major supplier of medium-speed diesel and gas engines as well as low-speed engines. Other technologies, such as the use of biofuels in combustion engines, are also central areas of research.
