The EffShip project (“Efficient Shipping for Low Emissions”) held a very successful final seminar in Gothenburg, Sweden on March 21, 2013. The SPIRETH project was developed based on work carried out in EffShip work package 2, “present and future maritime fuels”. Presentations from the final seminar are available on the EffShip webpage (www.effship.com).

SPIRETH was presented by Joanne Ellis at Transportforum 2013, held in Linköping, Sweden. The presentation focused on methanol as a fuel for meeting shipping’s new low emissions guidelines.

Mr. Thomas Stenhede gave a presentation titled “New fuels for ship engines” at the Scandinavian Maritime Conference (SMC12). The conference was held November 28-29, 2012 at Vestfold University College Campus (VUC), Norway. SPIRETH was one of the projects described in Mr. Stenhede’s presentation.

The SPIRETH project presented its objectives and interim achievements at the Energy & Transport Networking and Synergy Workshop held October 17-18^th, 2012 in Helsingborg, Sweden. The event was organized by the Nordic Council of Minister’s Energy & Transport Programme.
